Point Breeze is the destination residents kept returning to — for its historic lighthouse, the marina, the mouth of the Oak Orchard River, and the potential it holds for both residents and visitors.
What we've heard
Survey respondents envisioned Point Breeze as a stronger community destination:
- Family-oriented businesses
- Food and entertainment
- Festivals and water-based events
- Community gathering spaces along the waterfront
- Recreation that complements existing marina and boating activity
What the FLUM proposes
The draft FLUM designates Point Breeze as a mix of Commercial, Community Services, and Recreation & Entertainment classifications — reflecting residents' desire to strengthen it as a destination without losing its scale.
Not "development at any cost"
Residents also emphasized keeping Point Breeze consistent with Carlton's rural, small-town character. The direction is intentional enhancement — festivals, food, gathering places — not commodity development.

- Lower speed limits on Point Breeze Rd and Lakeshore Rd for pedestrians, bikers, and dog walkers.
